In a large boil, add all the ingredients(turmeric powder, carom seeds, red chilli powder, yoghurt, tandoori masala, juice from 1/2 cut lemon, chaat masala and ginger garlic paste) and mix well.Add the prawns and mix them well.Add 1 tsp of melted butter to the marination and cover it with a cling film or plastic.Marinate it overnight.
Soak the wooden skewers in hot water for 2-3 hours.
Once the prawns have marinated, take the skewers on insert the prawns one by one.
I had a small disposable instant barbecue with charcoals at home. This gave me an authentic charcoal flavoured tandoori ajwain prawns.I simply ignited the charcoal and placed my skewers over the given aluminium grill. It took hardly 10-15 minutes for the prawns to get barbecued. One can easily smell the flavours of charcoal and ajwain from the prawns.
You can grill theses in oven as well.
For oven, pre heat the oven at 200°C for 10 minutes.Place the skewers in the tray covered with aluminium foil and brush some melted butter over the prawns.Grill it for 8-10 minutes at 180°C.Turn off and flip the skewers to grill from the other end.Grill again for another 8-10 minutes.Keep a watch as the prawns need very less time to grill.

Once the prawns are cooked, place them in your serving plate.Squeeze some lemon juice and sprinkle chaat masala over the tandoori prawns.

Garnish and serve hot with  coriander chutney or mint chutney.
